Passing on for Rob Legood, KWLT Pres.Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre; a small community theatre which, for a number of years, lived at 9 Princess St. East in downtown Waterloo. We lived there until, three years ago to the day, on July 19th, 2002, our theatre burned to the ground and the process of Rebuilding began.
Today, three years later, we are within reach of opening our new theatre to the public so we'd like to offer an invitation to join us at the old site for a KWLT Rebuild BBQ! It'll take place this Saturday, July 23rd, from 11am to 2:30pm. For sale will be also sorts of BBQ stuff (burgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers, sausages) as well as other snacks.
While you're there, we'll be providing tours of the building's shell to walk you through what the new theatre will look like once it's complete. A DVD will be playing with scenes from previous rebuild days as well as our groundbreaking ceremony, and (weather permitting) a DJ will be on hand to entertain us with music. Several Board members will also be there to answer questions about the Rebuild project, or other aspects of the theatre.
We're very excited to be getting back to our space and want to share that excitement with you. This Saturday, take a break for lunch, come down to KWLT, enjoy some BBQ and say hi to the hard-working people involved with this theatre.
As always, you can check out our website,
www.kwlt.org, for more information on the Rebuild effort and the shows and auditions we have coming up. (Which *cheapplug* includes auditions for Dracula running July 25-27 and performances of the July One Act Play Weekend from July 28-30.
Hope to see you out!!!
