Things I should remember when I feel bad about the holidays....

This guy’s walking down a street, when he falls in a hole. The walls are so steep, he can’t get out.

A doctor passes by, and the guy shouts up, "Hey you! Can you help me out?" The doctor writes him a prescription, throws it down the hole, and moves on.

Then a priest comes along, and the guy shouts up, "Father, I’m down in this hole! Can you help me out?" The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole, and moves on.

Then a friend walks by. "Hey Joe, it’s me, can you help me out?" And the friend jumps in the hole! Our guy says "Are you stupid? Now we’re both down here!" And the friend says, "Yeah, but I’ve been down here before, and I know the way out."

Last night

Had a really good night last night. Came home from work to dinner in the oven already. Had to console LB for a bit (as I was about 30 minutes late getting home) and nursed & played with him for a bit. Then dinner, then gather stuff to work on and head to [livejournal.com profile] much_ado's place. Good textile & gabfest time. [livejournal.com profile] carolep and I did the "trip down memory lane" as we discussed people I used to live with, be friends with, be involved with. Was ... interesting. Got LB's quilt together, and the edges on. Just need to pin & quilt the main body. Since I'm planning on doing this with the machine, should be done soon (for some def'n of soon). I'm hoping to be done with it by the next stitch & bitch & be able to bring the kimonos.

Home a touch late (didn't pay attention to the clock) to a wee boy who'd been up for 30 minutes, wondering where mama was. Nursed him till he fell asleep, and spent some quality happy time with [livejournal.com profile] woodardp.

It was a good night.

Granted, I'm paying for not going to sleep till just after midnight, but once in a while, I can do that.
