This can go away now...

I caught a sunflash thanks to a truck in front of me.

For about 5 minutes now, I've had a roughly "u" shaped glittering obstruction to my vision, just slightly left of center, upper half of my field of view. To the point that I have to turn my head/eyes to read something.

This better go away quickly before I freak out - this is me deliberately *not* freaking out.

Eye update

Okay - so my boss (who's wife has gone through something similar) thinks it's likely ocular migraines, and suggested I do a search on that.

I did.

Yes, the symptoms sound similar.

I called my opthomologist's office to arrange an appointment. I described what's happening - they're talking to him and calling me back. (Oh, the search? It also said it could be an early signs of a TIA (eep!) or a detatched retina (eep!).

I'm not panicing. I am taking my ass to the doctor if he thinks that is a good idea (I suspect yes, but...)

Eye update Part 2

The optho thinks that based on what I'm describing that yes, it's likely an ocular migraine. He's really glad to hear there's no pain or blackening of my peripheral vision.

He wants me to monitor it for the weekend and if it happens more, call him next week and he'll take a look. If it is an O.M., there's nothing he can really do (fortunately, no lasting damage, just annoyance level stuff).

If I get any blackening of my peripheral, I am to get to emerg immediately (as that's a sign that I have a detatched retina, apparently).

Monitor, and record. I can do that.
