In another friends LJ, there has been discussion about what makes a person such-and-such.
Here's my take, just in case anyone here didn't know this already.
You tell me you're X, for a value of X, and I'll take that at face value. I may ask why or how or otherwise delve, but that's a "for value of X, my curiosity may vary" thing.
You got dangly bits or not - not relevant, unless I'm trying to access them.
You believe a certain way or not - only important on that "ooh, look, someone I can discuss/debate ideas with"
You're coloured a certain way? Skippy - I've got 3 races (that I know of) running around in me - it is *so* not relevant to me.
You have sex with Q people? Sure - unless I'm one of them, I'm less interested in the running commentary. ONE CAVEAT - if they cannot give consent, they don't qualify. Yes, that means I am discriminatory against people who practice pedophilia, necrophilia and beastality. Don't like that, that's fine with me.
Anything else you wanted to know, ask. I have a low tolerance for fools, and a relatively high tolerance for questions.
