King Henry IV has died. His son, young Henry, has just assumed the throne. Several bitter civil wars have left the English restless and dissatisfied. In order to gain the respect of the English people and the court, Henry must live down his wild adolescent past. To do so he lays claim to parts of France, but when the young prince of France sends Henry an insulting gift in reply, Henry plans an invasion of France. Supported by the English noblemen and the clergy, Henry gathers his troops for war. This great play focuses on events immediately before and after the Battle of Agincourt during the Hundred Years' War and director Amos Boratto's contemporary interpretation of Henry V mixes the florid scripting of Shakespeare with modern imagery and sound to create a bridge between the past and present.

To quote [livejournal.com profile] johnofnotrades, "We made money and we don't appear to have alienated anyone. I'll call that a win."

The first annual KWLT Fundraiser dinner is over. Rough calculations say we made approximately $1200 to $1300 net. Acceptable.

Learned a bunch. Have many things I'll do differently next time, as does he. I'm definitely in to do this again.

Now I sleep.
