[livejournal.com profile] much_ado interviews the Nita

the_nita: usual shot when I'm directing - since I'm *not* looking at actors, I must be working on the script. (Default)

1. what's your favourite sexual act? :)

Talking. Yah, I know, I'm a quiet freak most of the time (*snort*), but much as I'm usually willing to try most things, sexually, my favourite is talking to and listening to my partner. If you get me between the ears, the sheets is dirt easy (or it was...)

2. having now seen some of your ancestral turf, what thing or things would you make a point of seeing on the next trip to japan?

The list is long....

  • Kyoto - original capital - Mom says that folks from there consider the denizens of the "new capital" (Tokyo) to be barbarians. Bear in mind the capital moved from Kyoto to Edo (Tokyo) roughly 1200 years ago.

  • Fuji - cause

  • Every fishing village sushiya and sashimiya I can get my butt into - nothing like fish that was brought in out of the water only hours ago

  • More temples - I am not Buddhist or Shinto, but there was a remarkable lack of ...dogmatic shite, for want of a better word, while having a hell of a lot of peace to them.

  • Tokyo - only went through the big city on the train - didn't really see much.

I could keep going - there is so much, and I really didn't see as much as I could have.

3. what was the hardest thing to leave behind when you moved out of your parents' home and on your own for the first time?

Security. Having to live up to the expectation they both held that I was actually capable of taking care of myself and doing well. Hardest moment of my new-found independance was living up to their disappointment when I left university.

4. what's your favourite ritual with your husband? (please note, this is different from #1 ;-)

Two.

When we're separate, we both fall back on when we were dating long distance - the moon became the place to commune.

When we're together, the end of the day, snuggled in bed together, discussion of the day, the immediate future, the longer range, and generally whatever silliness strikes us.

5. if you had an unlimited budget and time to plan, what is the one "Dream Meal" you would love to prepare, and who would you invite to eat it? (ok, that's a cheat with two questions in one, but i'm curious)

Dear gods...I would love to do the cross culture version of dim sum, but more structured and more elegant - tidbits from all the cultures I'm part of - Japanese, Irish, Scottish, French, English, German, Canadian - then start pulling in the ones of my family - Russian, Chinese, Thai, Californian - you get the idea. Something inately personal in taking family history and turning into a meal. Who would I invite? Well, other than I need a MUCH bigger table? Those people who have become family - there's no legal ties between us, but those people I love as my family.

Hope that answers your questions.
