For those of you who don't know her, [livejournal.com profile] quingawaga is a bloody talented stained glass artist. I've bought several of her pieces, including one that was a commission piece that the final owner fell in love with.

She's doing a number of exhibits this fall - if you like stained glass and independant art, check these out!

If you don't have time to go to the shows, check her out at Colourandlight.ca.

For immediate release:

KWLT announces the addition of a Saturday matinee to its successful
run of The Three Musketeers, by Willis Hall, adapted from the novel by
Alexandre Dumas.

Hot off a sell out opening week, and at audience demand for more
opportunities to see this lively swashbuckling romp, KWLT is pleased
to offer an additional show. We will now be offering tickets for The
Three Musketeers for this Saturday, July 26, for a 2pm matinee.

This tongue-in-cheek version of the classic story follows the story of
D'Artagnan, a poor Gascon youth who goes to Paris to join the
Musketeers and make his fortune. He is befriended by three of the
Musketeers, Athos, Porthos & Aramis, sharing their adventures and
foiling the evil plans of the Cardinal Richelieu and Milady DeWinter
to expose the love affair between Queen Anne and the Duke of
Buckingham, discrediting her. Slick, sexy and full of sword fighting,
KWLT proudly presents this comic romp of the glory days of France.

Cast & crew of the performance invite you to secure your tickets
quickly - evening shows are selling fast, and we expect this matinee
to do the same.

Performances Dates: July 24-26. Evening shows 8pm, matinee July 26 at 2pm
St. Jacobs Church Theatre, 1376 King St. N., St. Jacobs, ON

Tickets: $15, $10 for KWLT members
Group & Eyego rates available
For tickets, please contact 519-886-0660 or email boxoffice@kwlt.org
For credit card purchases, please contact 519-578-1570 or
boxoffice@centre-square.com

Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French Ltd.

If you are planning on coming this Friday or Saturday and you haven't booked your tickets yet, you need to email boxoffice@kwlt.org NOW. As of this morning, there were only 10 or so tickets left for each of those nights.

We're thisclose to selling out 2 of the 3 shows for this week.

And people ask me if I'm excited...

I'm pleased to tell you that we've got eight great performers showing
their skills at Bards tomorrow:

Musical Performers
Adam Bleskie
Clever Girls (Polly Edwards & Heather MacDonald)
James Judd
Joel Hobson
Peter Williamson

Non-musical Performers
Anthony Damiao
Joe West & Budd White
Roger Sumner

As well, our good friend Joe has arranged to put on a special performance with members of the UW Juggling Club, which sounds great! If you haven't already done so, e-mail me to reserved your seats and get in for $8 instead of $10. Of course, proceeds all go to KW Little Theatre, so feel free to pay the $10 even if you're on the list.

See you all tomorrow!

My new trainer rocks my pain ridden little world.

She's kicking my ass effectively. She's helping me push my own limits. (I did 10 girly pushups today - but that's still 3 more than last week!!! Yay me!) She's reasonably priced and she comes to me.

If anyone needs a trainer, lemme know and I'll pass on the info.

So - ticket presales for 3 Musketeers are going really well. Friday & Saturday nights are filling up quickly. How about save yourself some disappointment later by telling me now what night you want to come and we'll work out money as soon as we can.

Cast/crew presales ends this Sunday, so let me know if you need your tickets still....

So - ticket presales for 3 Musketeers are going really well. If you want to have your pick of nights, you'll want to book your tickets sooner than later. I've heard from some of you....

We're selling tickets at the AGM tonight. I know some of you are coming to that. For those of you who are not, how about save yourself some disappointment later by telling me now what night you want to come and we'll work out money as soon as we can.

[insert the_nita's cocky grin here]

There's nothing like a good show and tickets going fast to make my ego skyrocket. I'll try to keep it in check, honest.....

Given that Musketeers is still a month away, the One Acts are over, and there's no Bards this month, if you're looking for some theatre to scratch that itch, may I suggest Poor Tom Productions upcoming show, The Glass Menagerie. It's playing this weekend & next at the Registry. They're good people, do good theatre, and gods knows, local theatre has to support it's own.

Evidently, the practice at Bards is helping.

I still hate talking extemporaneously to an audience - I'm not good at it. I'm better than I was, fortunately.

We did the promo/performance/thingy for the Spotlight festival this afternoon - thank the gods for actors & fighters who can sell their performance. I blathered about why were there there and the (ahem) cursory instruction on how to do a fight.

Oddly fun, given that we were all amazingly too warm, on a stage we got 10 minutes to set up on, and I was pulling what I was saying mostly out of the thin air. Given that esprit de escalier is pretty much my nom du plume, drove me a little nutters reviewing it after for "what I should have said". But the audience seemed to like it enough not to leave, so I'll call it a win for now.

I need to do more talking to crowds on subjects other than my current show, the computer woes or my wee boy.

Either that, or I need to find myself a writer and learn the damned lines beforehand. [g]

Now - to make the boys dinner....

KWLT & FASS presents the 2nd Annual

2007 FREE THEATRE WORKSHOP SERIES - Production

November 21 from 7pm to 10pm

At the University of Waterloo: Math and Computing Building, Room 2017

Admission is FREE so sign up early to ensure your spot. ad@kwlt.org or (519) 886-0660

November 21 – PRODUCING
with yours truly

Production is one of the unsung heroes of a show. Do it well and the show makes money. Do it poorly and even the best rehearsed cast faces small audiences. Some simple scheduling and ideas can make the difference between the two. I'll provide some insight & suggestions based on years of production experience with KWLT.

If you haven't seen them on the rest of your Flist, Bards is tomorrow evening.

I'm performing.

Gods help me, I'm trying a standup variant. It seems to have worked well last time. If I don't lose my supper to stage fright, this should at least entertain me.

Come see which wins - my stomach or my williness to make an idjit out of myself to entertain an audience.....

If you pre-purchase your tickets to "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead" through me, i will give you..... a backrub.

Not that I'm competitive or really good with my hands or anything...

(More or less reposting [livejournal.com profile] much_ado's post, but with some semblance of capitals and removing extraneous commentary towards the producer)

If you're a non-member, you can purchase (not just reserve, but you must actually pay for) tickets for a specific evening for the members' price of $10/ticket through any of the cast or crew of KWLT's production of "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead."

For those living under a rock for the past several months, here are the show dates again :)

Thurs-Sat, March 22-24 and 29-31, 8pm curtain all shows.

To purchase said tickets, here's what we need:

  • the names associated with each ticket

  • your contact phone/email information

  • number of tickets required,

  • the nights that the tickets are required,

  • does the patron require the tickets in advance or will they be held at the box office,

  • amount and method of payment (cash or cheque made payable to "Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre")

No payment = no reservation. I believe, and will confirm, that paid reservations can be refunded at the door.

Contrary to [livejournal.com profile] much_ado's post, I think I'm putting together a little contest for the cast/crew for ticket sales - prize to be determined and announced at Sunday's rehearsal (and then email). Not that I have a competitive streak in me or anything.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Battle of the Bards is a monthly competitive coffee house that I compete in. (for those of you who haven't heard the spiel before)

This month's Battle of the Bards will be held this Friday, November 18 at 8pm at the Button Factory (aka the Waterloo Community Arts Centre) Doors open at 7:30 and tickets are $5 in advance (email bardsbattle@gmail.com) or $8 at the door.

I'm going to be working solo for the first time in a bit - going to be doing some monologues and reminding myself I'm an actor. Come! Watch. Enjoy. Try not to point while you laugh at me *G*

Everyone there gets to vote (3 votes per person, per half) for their favourite performers...who me, trying to stack the deck?

If you want to have a good time, have fun making fun of me, and help me WIN (who me, competative, don't know what you're talking about), please come see us!
