Happy new years, folks.

If I didn't spend the last 48 hours with you, know you were also in my heart.

I am enormously blessed with friends.

There's a gorgeous state of mind knowing that even when you only see each other a few days of the year (because OMG we all have lives), that for all that we play catch up on the details, the emotional connection that makes me glad to know you all? That's like a freakin' rock. A touchstone I can reach any time and KNOW that my friends love me.

My life, she does not suck.

Love you all. Nap time soon

to one of the coolest headed ladies I've ever had the pleasure to call my friend.

[livejournal.com profile] elizabear, thank you for being in my life. You enrich it, even when we are so far away from each other.

Hee.

I have the sexiest friends ever. The ones on camera. The ones off. The ones who write my scripts. The ones who film. The ones who keep the police at bay.

I can't wait to show you the final version....

For those of you who don't know her, [livejournal.com profile] quingawaga is a bloody talented stained glass artist. I've bought several of her pieces, including one that was a commission piece that the final owner fell in love with.

She's doing a number of exhibits this fall - if you like stained glass and independant art, check these out!

If you don't have time to go to the shows, check her out at Colourandlight.ca.

  • Show's shaping up - still a few places that need work, but not a surprise. Over all, things are looking very good, and heartbreakingly sexy in places.

  • Over the past week, we've emptied the office of doom, pulled up & disposed of the carpet, refloored in gorgeous bamboo, repainted, turfed the old blinds, installed new (accessible for washing) curtains, started the reload in (omg, space), dekippling seriously as we go.

  • Prebuild for the show is done - all the knee walls for the extension, flats are ready to be installed, still need a few set pieces, photos & to finalise the music.

  • Publicity stuff for upcoming season

  • Work - especially with lots of coworkers off.

  • Visiting with a dear friend and saying good bye again

  • Parenting

  • Walk prep - though not as much as I should - something's had to give

Yah....whee

Eat.
Read one of the stories that inspires me, and has since I was a child.
Soak up a voice that gives me strength.
Remind myself that my friends rock my world.

[deep breath]

I should know better. I have backup. I have my own damned force of will.

Yes, there will be work.

Yes, I'll likely tear my hair & heart out more - how is that different from the rest of my life?

But that's it - it's my life - coloured with the blood, sweat, tears & glory that I bring it. I may die an early death because of the way I live my life, but at least, by everything I hold dear, I'll live that life until such time as whatever kills me catches me.

In the meantime? Bring it.

I'm really proud to have the people I call friends in my life. I am not going into details (because they're not mine to delve into), but [livejournal.com profile] thespian is my hero today.

My friends give a damn and try to make things better. Success or fail, they try.

Having friends who know too well how to push my buttons is a good and glorious thing, even if it is just a little evil.

We see what I choose to do, now that the button has been pushed.

Suggestions for remedies to quickly expunge headcolds, or at least how to manage them on a ~5 hour flight? I will be bringing pain killers & decongestants, but any recommendations would be good. I need to be functional by then.

It sucketh not to be me. My body may betray me, but my friends indulge me.

Yes, [livejournal.com profile] suburban_mom, I am one of the luckiest critters alive - that horseshoe is still firmly wedged.

Hee.

Music is mine and shall be mine and all is good.

Now to use the energy I'm getting for total cosmic domination good.

the_nita: usual shot when I'm directing - since I'm *not* looking at actors, I must be working on the script. (Mistakes)
I have 4 friends who are not helping my brainspace today.

And I suspect it's only four because the rest are either busy or haven't seen their LJ/email.

And people wonder why I have internal filters I work so hard at keeping at full force.....

the_nita: usual shot when I'm directing - since I'm *not* looking at actors, I must be working on the script. (walking)
So I went for my massage last night - explained that I'd be in regularly over the summer, thanks to the walk I am doing.

I got another sponsorship for the walk (yay!)

I got a couple cooling ointment gels to test (when my muscles start to burn when I'm walking), a little twisty thing that is added to water to help replace some of the salts (think concentrated gatorade that weighs about half an ounce) to test out, and a supply of a very effective footbath thing to help rejuvenate my feet after walking. And she's said if they work for me, there's more I can have.

I should feel guilty, I suppose - the proper Canadian girl or something. But dude, between my more mercenary side, and the pragmatic fact that I'm going to need all the help I can muster, and she's a dear friend of mine, dude - I'm not going to feel guilty.

Powerful. Yah - that's more like it - I feel powerful. I am starting to build momentum (what else can I be - I have all my friends pushing me from behind (and yes, my arse is big enough to take it....)).

Hee...it's good to be the Nita.
the_nita: usual shot when I'm directing - since I'm *not* looking at actors, I must be working on the script. (3 Musketeers)
I have an SM who rocks my world.

She can think clearly when I can't. She remembers shite I don't.

Damn, but it's nice to know someone has your back - and they're good at it.
the_nita: usual shot when I'm directing - since I'm *not* looking at actors, I must be working on the script. (3 Musketeers)
I beg a boon.

Part of the set design for Musketeers involves a number of photographs being projected to help set the location.

Do any of my shutterbug friends have anything they think might help me with any of the following:

  • throne room

  • farm (pigs)

  • market square

  • semi-secluded courtyard

  • military quarters for senior officer

  • rear of convent

  • seedy looking older cottage

  • dungeon

  • terraced garden

  • room in the palace

  • interior of nobleman's home

  • chapel (preferably looking towards the altar)

  • ballroom

If anyone can help, I'd be greatful (and I'll credit your photography in the program)

Evidently, she has an idea for me...

I have the best friends.

They make me think.

They make me cry.

They make me laugh my ass off.

They love me.

They let me love them.

There are worse gigs. Definitely.

It helps that I am having a better end to my week than it started already, but I have the best friends.

And I'm such a girl sometimes.

I have utterly gorgeous alstroemeria in a little vase in my office now. Little pink, white, green and burgundy bursts of spring.

Telling me that I was heard and that I'm not alone.

Yes, yes, I know. I'm a mushhead. It's not like that was news....
