Who is coming?

I'm performing. I even have stuff prepared, scary as that may seem.

Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre, in coordination with Battle of the Bards, presents the first annual KWLT Fundraising dinner

An evening of good food, entertainment and music, with all funds raised going towards the Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre for the rebuilding of it's theatre.

Bards and KWLT, working together with the Castle on King, are offering a night of good food, live entertainment and a chance to do something for the local arts community. Tickets for this evening are $60 each, with a tax receipt for $30. Want to make sure you sit with your friends? We have a number of sizes of tables available, with a table of 4 costing $200.

Doors will open at 5:30 on October 6, with things kicking off at 6pm. Dinner will be at the Castle; where great beer and fantastic food find good friends. An old style restaurant and pub with a modern outlook and a relaxed atmosphere, the Castle is famous for their beer, serving only the finest ales and lagers from select Ontario microbreweries and specialty imports from around the world. It's a unique beer experience for the true connoisseur, and the food matches the excellence in the beer, giving a unique style and vibrancy you won't find anywhere else.

Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre has presented live community theatre in KW for over 75 years. Setting itself apart from the rest of the theatre community, KWLT is an an entry point to anyone interested in the theatre experience. KWLT opens its doors to new inexperienced actors and directors and produces locally written shows. A large number of people involved with KWLT in any given year are enjoying their first acting experience.

On July19th, 2002 our theatre burned to the ground. In just over 15 hours, portions of our 75 year history were destroyed forever. Since then, we have been working through volunteer efforts and donations towards being able to move back into our home theatre. Current estimates with our Rebuild Manager, Chris Rovers, puts the day we can reopen at 9 Princess St. E. in next spring. We've worked hard to get to this point but we know we couldn't have made it without the support of our community.

Since 2002, Battle of the Bards has provided a venue for performers in the Waterloo Region to showcase their skills and talents in friendly competition. In 2008, the Battle of the Bards team began organizing fundraisers for not-for-profit groups that lack the resources to produce their own events. Through these functions, Battle of the Bards hopes to enhance the profile of amateur artistry and entertainment while giving back to our community. Contact us to arrange a Battle of the Bards show on behalf of your organization.

To order tickets, please contact the KWLT Box Office at boxoffice@kwlt.org.

Please check KWLT's website, www.kwlt.org, for updates regarding performers and other news.

I'm pleased to tell you that we've got eight great performers showing
their skills at Bards tomorrow:

Musical Performers
Adam Bleskie
Clever Girls (Polly Edwards & Heather MacDonald)
James Judd
Joel Hobson
Peter Williamson

Non-musical Performers
Anthony Damiao
Joe West & Budd White
Roger Sumner

As well, our good friend Joe has arranged to put on a special performance with members of the UW Juggling Club, which sounds great! If you haven't already done so, e-mail me to reserved your seats and get in for $8 instead of $10. Of course, proceeds all go to KW Little Theatre, so feel free to pay the $10 even if you're on the list.

See you all tomorrow!

other than the other performers? It's this week.

(Yes, I've been busy at work and not plugging me performing. Sorry - release dates do that to me)

Come to Bards and watch me wax rapsodic with the help of the CBC about the nature of the universe....

(I was inspired, what can I say?)

If you haven't seen them on the rest of your Flist, Bards is tomorrow evening.

I'm performing.

Gods help me, I'm trying a standup variant. It seems to have worked well last time. If I don't lose my supper to stage fright, this should at least entertain me.

Come see which wins - my stomach or my williness to make an idjit out of myself to entertain an audience.....

And once again, I'm performing.

However, thanks to the small cricket that lives on my shoulder (little bugger), I'm doing something a little different.

The secrets of the universe will be revealed (or I'll trainwreck in a hopefully spectacularly funny manner), this Friday night at 8pm - see http://www.battleofthebards.com for details about getting tickets.

We're also doing a promo for Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Stoppard after the show - come - it'll be fun.

See you there!

Edit: Can I be blamed for wishing it was Thursday?

Hey folks,

I'm performing this Friday at Bards! [livejournal.com profile] kragars_shadow has once again agreed to sing with me (man's a glutton for punishment!), and we've got a couple fun bits that we're doing.

Other performers include [livejournal.com profile] ink_13 and [livejournal.com profile] privare - come on. It's a fun evening of competitive coffee-house performances. Doors open at 7:30pm, and the show kicks off at 8pm. Admission is $8.00 at the door, or you can reserve seats and get a discounted rate of $5.00 (we highly recommend it).

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

It's kind of a dorky one. I visualise really well. Really really well. Sadly, that's all it does - I cannot always make those visualisations known. Sometimes I can communicate them, and then I'm a good director.

Sometimes I can communicate them and I wind up enabling people to other behaviours.

Then...then there are the times when all I want is to wash my brain out with heavy duty lye-soap.

The "Barbie Girl Lip-Synch Contest at Bards" was really something I never needed to have cross my brain. That my evil brain did this to me when I was ASLEEP is at least part of why I'm posting at stupid o'thirty in the morning.

Since too many people I've spoken to in the last week have gone "Who?" when I said "Tom Lehrer"

Need to find a pianist and do some of his stuff.

Failing finding pianist, then just figuring a way to do it on my own....

Battle of the Bards is a monthly competitive coffee house that I compete in. (for those of you who haven't heard the spiel before)

This month's Battle of the Bards will be held this Friday, November 18 at 8pm at the Button Factory (aka the Waterloo Community Arts Centre) Doors open at 7:30 and tickets are $5 in advance (email bardsbattle@gmail.com) or $8 at the door.

I'm going to be working solo for the first time in a bit - going to be doing some monologues and reminding myself I'm an actor. Come! Watch. Enjoy. Try not to point while you laugh at me *G*

Everyone there gets to vote (3 votes per person, per half) for their favourite performers...who me, trying to stack the deck?

If you want to have a good time, have fun making fun of me, and help me WIN (who me, competative, don't know what you're talking about), please come see us!

This month, I will be performing with [livejournal.com profile] ink_13 - he of the oft-successful juggling & dry wit routines. We've yet to finalise what we're doing, but rest assured, it'll be funny - this is our nature, after all.

There's a monthly competitive coffee house that I...for want of a better word...compete in.

This time I'm not singing - I'll be doing a dialogue with my partner in crime, Dave O'G. Should be much fun.
